The toe nail colors for fall I’m drawn to are mostly deep and glossy. But milky pink stays on the list. It looks so pretty with an oversized sweater.

These nine are worth a look before your next pedicure, starting with a dark red that always puts me in a fall mood.

Red with a little attitude. Black cherry makes a plain pedicure feel dressed for dinner, even when you’re wearing your oldest jeans.

I wouldn’t add nail art to this. There’s enough going on in that deep, wine-red color.

The Two To Try First

• Black cherry gets my vote for the first fall pedicure. Glossy, deep red on short nails is one of those combinations I never get tired of.
• Muted lilac is the one I’d choose for a change. That grayish purple is soft without looking sugary, which is why I like it for fall.
