A little retro, a little playful, and very easy to love: these fall polka dot nails bring plenty of personality to your autumn nails.

Polka dots are doing a suspiciously good job of making me want the same manicure in five different colors. Apparently, little circles are very persuasive.

The chocolate-brown sets with white dots got me first. There’s something a little retro about them, and I love how playful they look beside a chunky sweater.

That’s what I like about fall polka dot nails: the pattern is cheerful even when the colors get moody.

I’ve included 23+ designs so you can see just how different that little pattern can feel. A few are sweet; others have much more attitude.

Berry Blossom French

Fall polka dot nails with red and white French tips, a milky dotted accent, and a red flower on pink.

Swap the red and white around as you move across the hand. You get two versions of the dots without introducing another color.

That soft-edged flower is the bit I’d keep for a more romantic finish.

Blue-Dotted Metallics

Almond autumn nails with a smoky brown base, silvery metallic sheen, and tiny pale blue polka dots.

I didn’t expect baby blue to look this good over a smoky metallic base. A little odd, in the best way.

Sculpted Burgundy Blooms

Pink and burgundy fall polka dot nails with shimmery French tips and raised flowers with gold centers.

Those raised petals deserve a dinner reservation. I’d wear this with a silky blouse and let the shimmery flower count as an accessory.

For a flatter version, ask for painted petals and keep the gold centers.

Forest Green Pin Dots

Square autumn nails with glossy forest green polish and small, widely spaced pale pink polka dots.

We’re keeping those square tips. They give the pink dots some attitude.

Oversized Monochrome Dots

Almond fall polka dot nails with a milky pink-white base and oversized black dots, some cut off at the edges.

Go bigger with the dots if you want the pattern to feel graphic.

A few circles run off the sides here, which makes them look like part of a larger print. Much more interesting than centering every spot.

Burgundy Dotted Shorties

Short, rounded autumn nails with glossy burgundy polish and evenly spaced white polka dots.

These remind me of a favorite dotted blouse, right down to the deep red. Adorable on short nails.

Dotted Olive French

Almond fall polka dot nails with sheer pink bases, olive green French tips, and white dots across both.

Let the dots cross over the olive tips onto the pink base. Keeping them only on the green would lose that lovely, scattered effect.

Black Gloss & Pink French

Black autumn nails with white dots and a pink French accent.

That pink index finger feels cheeky among all the black. The dotted French tip still ties it to the rest of the set.

The accent’s placement is worth copying, too. A little less expected than putting it on the ring finger.

Berry Polka Dot Tips

Match your lipstick to these dotted red tips. I absolutely would.

Soft Gray Micro Dots

Short, softly squared autumn nails with a glossy light gray base and tiny darker gray polka dots.

Finally, dots for someone who likes their nail art quiet. The gray-on-gray contrast is soft enough that you notice the pattern up close.

The short shape suits that understated feel.

Smoky Silver Polka Dots

Ask for the dark outline as well as the silver shimmer. Without that border, you’d lose the smoky, framed effect that makes these stand out.

The dark dots look almost suspended over the reflective centers.

Oversized Sage Spots

Almond fall polka dot nails with a pale pink base and oversized sage green circles.

The oversized sage spots have me thinking of vintage wallpaper.

Berry Red & Spaced Dots

Short square autumn nails with glossy berry red polish and scattered white polka dots.

Leave a little more room between the white dots if you want the red to stand out. This sparser version gives that glossy berry base more of the attention.

Chocolate Bow French

Chocolate fall polka dot nails with blue dots, pale blue dotted French tips, and a fine brown bow.

The bow is drawn right into the brown outline, which makes the French tip look like it’s tied on. Ridiculously cute.

Keep that fine line if you skip the bow; it gives the blue a really neat border.

Pink French & Taupe Dots

We can absolutely do pink for fall. Those little taupe dots are all the autumn color this needs.

Glossy Chocolate Dots

Almond fall polka dot nails with a glossy chocolate brown base and small white dots.

I’d wear this glossy chocolate with a cream knit. The little white dots would pick it up beautifully.

Mint Chocolate Chip French

Almond autumn nails with pink bases, mint green French tips, brown dots, and mint dots below the tips.

Mint chocolate chip, but make it a manicure. Those brown dots are making me hungry.

Cream Polka Dot French

Fall polka dot nails with glossy pink almond bases and cream French tips dotted in different-sized black spots.

Vary the size of the black dots instead of making them identical. It gives these cream French tips a looser, slightly quirky feel while the pink base stays polished.

Rose Gold Dotwork

Pink almond fall polka dot nails with tiny rose-gold metallic dots and matching reflective French tips.

Dots with a little texture. That’s a very pretty upgrade to the usual painted pattern.

Pink-Dotted Burgundy French

Fall polka dot nails with glossy pink almond bases and burgundy French tips covered in pale pink dots.

I’m very partial to pink dots on burgundy. Softer than white, but just as sweet.

Velvet Taupe Dot Mix

Almond autumn nails with dotted white and taupe French tips, metallic dots on white accents, and velvety taupe shimmer.

Leave the shimmery nail free of dots so you can really see that velvety shine. There’s already plenty of pattern on the French tips and white accents.

If you want less sparkle, keep the metallic dots and use a plain taupe accent instead.

Retro Berry Squares

The square French tips make this berry set feel wonderfully retro.

Cocoa Meets Baby Blue

Autumn nails with blue dots on brown, brown dots on blue, and matching dotted French tips over pink bases.

I’d pull out a pale blue shirt for this one. That warm brown makes the blue feel right at home with suede boots and an autumn wardrobe.

Butter Yellow Dot Medley

Fall polka dot nails with butter yellow and pale blue French tips, pink bases, and dark dotted accents.

Not ready to give up your pastels? Keep the yellow and blue, then add a few dark dotted nails.

You still get that cheerful mix with a little more depth for fall.

Berry Dots in Reverse

Oval fall polka dot nails with burgundy dots on pale pink on one hand and pale pink dots on burgundy on the other.

Give each hand its own color scheme. I love the pink and burgundy reversed like this; you get a sweet side and a moodier one without changing the pattern.

Give the Dots Some Space

I’d keep the dots tiny on a narrow French tip so you can still see the curve. For the oversized green version, I’d leave plenty of pink between each dot.

It’s the spacing I’d copy as carefully as the colors. Those little gaps keep each circle distinct.
